You know you're getting older when...

  • you write lists to help you remember things and then lose the notepad;

  • you have a whole cupboard dedicated to Tupperware;

  • when you're invited out the first thing you worry about is how you're going to get home;

  • you can remember the new fashions from the first time around;

  • you remember the original version of a cover song;

  • you make references to TV programmes that none of your colleagues can remember;

  • when you talk to your children you hear your mother's voice;

  • you actually look at the comfortable shoes range;

  • the thought of touching your toes is just that - a thought;

  • you struggle to remember people's names. Sometimes your own children's;

  • 11pm seems really late;

  • you can drink alcohol and go to bed early, or keep to soft drinks and stay up late. Staying up late drinking alcohol is a thing of the past;

  • you start taking notice of the weather forecasts;
  • These are my signs of ageing - what are yours?

Same as yours and also I start thinking that maybe Botox would not be that bad if only did not have needles! And my teenager son tells me off for wearing over the knee skirts and high heels!!! All the best. Ciao. A.
PS Hope your daughter is better now!

Like yours as well as not having a clue what is number one, thinking all new music sounds the same and preferring radio 5 live or radio 4 to radio 1.

When I listen to music I thought was from 'my parents day' and realise it is actually really good!

When I look at my teenage children and see myself in them.

Worst of all, needing orthotics for my shoes! :-{

Best wishes, Mervat.

Antonella - yes, when the children start telling you how to dress, definitely! Thanks for asking about my daughter, she is fine now and fully recovered.

Tawny, that's another one - I won't listen to 'that racket' on other stations, I just stick to Radio 2 now.

Mervat, thanks for visiting! I didn't know what orthotics were so had to look it up! Hmm, yes that sounds like you could be heading for the comfort shoe section in the shop shops soon....

see you there! said...

Huh. For me I guess it is thinking I left a post on someone's blog and coming back the next day to find I didn't. CRS.

When singing HSM songs with your daughter makes you feel young!
