Real Dog versus Virtual Dog?

As you may know, after years of my two daughters begging me for a dog we finally brought our lovely Tess home on Sunday and she's already stolen our hearts.

So what did I discover today?

My girls, sitting in the living room playing on their Nintendo DS players. Guess which game they were playing? Nintendogs. Yep, bloomin' NintenDOGS! This is a game where they can play with a virtual dog, and take it for walks, etc.

Their own real dog was sitting in the same room as them. I give up.

Hahaha. Maybe the are just preparing mentally to walk their real dog. (One can hope!)

The very same thing happened to us when we got our labrador four years ago. Kid eh!

LOL...that is too funny. See with the virtual one you don't have to pick up their shit so I can see the attraction. Not being a dog owner myself I must admit I am kind of biased. However, no matter what they can't ever snuggle with the virtual one!

Congrats on your new family member!!

Darla, they have only been on a couple of the walks I've done with Tess and both of them get bored after 30 mins! I have some long walks planned while they're away.

Welsh Girl - I know!

Jane - today the youngest asked me for a pony! It's not going to happen...

Yummy, yes that's true - no poop bags for the virtual dog! Tess is so cute though, and loves a cuddle.

Ha ha. It's a generation thing, I think. Our children see virtual things as a natural extension of life.

Sorry I haven't commented lately but I'm having problems with Internet and working on a very limited connecting speed! Anyway, really love Tess, she's so cute. Don't worry about the kids, thay are...kids and they're meant to get bored easily. I think now that Tess is in their life she's not a novelty anymore but they will still love her. She will be good for your health at least! Great you had a lovely time in Wales. No holidays for me this summer. Maybe later on in the year. All the best. Ciao. A.

Iota, I think you're right. Never mind, Tess is still gorgeous!

Antonella, lovely to hear from you. Sorry to hear of your internet problems, they can be a pain sometimes. Ciao!
