It's Not Goodbye....more like Au Revoir

Things are getting a bit out of hand in the notSupermum household.  There are stacks of paperwork waiting to be dealt with and filed or binned; a growing heap of ironing that's so big it's threatening to take over the spare room, no, the whole house; a pile of unread books by my bedside; letters that need to be written; small DIY jobs waiting to be finished and Tess my wonderful greyhound needs two walks each day.

But instead of doing some of these things I'm spending my time - far too much of my time - blogging.  I'm an all or nothing type of gal, and at the moment it's all about blogging.  It's become an obsession rather than the hobby it started out as, and I'm spending hours browsing and reading blogs, writing comments and looking for ideas for blog posts.  It's all too much.

More importantly, my Dad is still in hospital and that involves daily visits; the Teenager-in-Waiting is sick and need attending to; and I'm in the midst of a major work issue which will involve me appearing at an employment hearing in the near future.

All in all, it's a busy and quite stressful time right now.

So....something's gotta give, as they say, and I think it's going to be the blogging for a while at least.  So, it's au revoir - auf wiedersehen - bye for now.  But in the immortal words of Arnie, I'll be back!

Hello, I hope you can be back as soon as you are *genuinely* able - I know where you are coming from and you know when the right time to knock it on the head. Even if you are not blogging, don't forget those who you have reached out to, entertained and informed will still be there for you! I've had long periods of not blogging and each time I have said I was packing it in entirely. Pretty glad I didn't now. All the very best to you and I hope you can somehow find some time for you. xx

hey - good choice - real life for a while! Hope you get through everything and find some spare time too.

I keep a list next to my shopping list which I right my blogs ideas down on, why not keep one whilst you break, it will be so long when you come back, you'll never run out!!!

Best Wishes and look forward to seeing you again.

A break to clear things up and attend to all the necessaries in life. I reckon Supermum is an understatement - good luck and hope you'll be back real soon

I totally understand you. I see that "real" has to take first place. Hope your daughter will feel better soon and things will get better with your dad as well. Deal with all your important issues, but please come back here when you can because you are important to us as well and hopefully we are a bit important to you. A presto. Ciao. A.

Gutting, but totally understandable. It can be oddly liberating when you stop blogging for a while. Suddenly there is so much time to get other things done. Then again that only works if you actually do the other things with the spare time... Hope life becomes calmer for you. Come back soon.

Hello there. I really like your blog. I have only just began to write a blog on here but I hope you might stop by and read it sometime. xxx

There is something about blogging that makes moderation hard to achieve. I admire those who can be balanced about blogging.

Of course your *real* life comes first. Take good care of yourself. We will be when you get back.

It does sound as if you have a lot on your plate. And blogging should be fun, not a chore. Take some time to get straight - we'll still be here, and Google Reader will tell us when you've posted.

A bientot,

Good luck with everything Supermum.
I am sure you will be back.
I dip in and out now, because real life has to take priority. But people are still there, and new people arrive. It is always evolving. You will remain on the blog rolls...
Really hope everything works out well for you.

I soooo understand...but miss you all the same :) It can be hard to keep up, I can attest to that. I think you are wise to step back and prioritize -- need to take a lesson from ya and do that myself once in a while.

Meantime, hope all is well w/you & yours. See ya!!!

Exactly a month ago you stepped out of Blogita to deal with the stresses in your life. I hope everything's ok, with you, your dad, with teenager in waiting and having just found you, hope you will be back soon!

Thanks to everyone for your comments over the past month. I've had a busy time, but I'm getting ready to return to blogging again. I've enjoyed my break, but I've missed everyone!
