Simple pleasures are the best

This morning while out walking I was standing in the middle of a field, like you do. Well it's a field where the hound likes to run.

Suddenly I realised there was a flock of about 10-12 swallows flying around the field. They were flying incredibly fast and swooping low then back up again. I noticed a couple of times some of the birds were meeting up during flight and that one bird was passing something to the other. I now realise one bird was feeding insects to the other.

There's something very thrilling about seeing nature at close quarters and I stood there for a good 5 minutes watching them swoop and soar and chirp. It was all so peaceful and beautiful, and very uplifting.
