I've been a single parent since January 2003 and ten years on we've not only survived but thrived. Being a single parent can be hard, there's no doubt about that but it gets easier with time. It's a bit like learning to ride a unicycle: harder than riding a two-wheeler but not impossible and ultimately very rewarding. Now where else will you find single-parenting likened to circus skills, eh?
I'm a recent convert to gardening and have enjoyed working in our new (smaller) garden since we moved in 2011. I'm also enjoying putting our own stamp on this lovely, but very bland, house. I'm a basic but enthusiastic home decorator and love seeing a finished project.
In October 2011 we moved into a house that we share with my younger brother who is in the merchant navy and so is away for half of the year. It's working well so far and I've only wanted to strangle him a few times. I've mellowed y'see. He's
My dog Tess features heavily on this blog, mainly because I don't post photos of my daughters and also because she's my little friend. Yeah, I know, I'm a soppy dog owner.
